Copper Weight Calculator
Sheet, busbar, round rod or tube — get kg per piece, per metre, total kg and tonnes. Copper 8.96 g/cm³ (brass preset included).
How copper weight is calculated
Weight = volume × density, with copper at 8960 kg/m³ — about 14% denser than steel, so a copper busbar is noticeably heavier than the same-sized steel bar. Sheet/plate/busbar = width × length × thickness × density; round rod = π × (diameter ÷ 2)² × length × density; tube = π × ((OD/2)² − (OD/2 − wall)²) × length × density. Brass (~8500) and bronze (~8800) presets are included. For copper trade, unit values and tariffs see the copper page; for the cradle-to-gate footprint (a technology-dependent range) see the environmental impact calculator.
